Nomination Qualifications
The World Ability Awards were designed to acknowledge any individual or organization that helps shift the focus to what people can do rather than what they cannot do...on abilities, not disabilities.
Award candidates are those outstanding individuals and companies that serve the entire cross-section of all disabilities. This includes organizations that are from the private or public sector, not-for-profit charities or for-profit ventures, secular and non-secular organizations, researchers who look for cures as well as innovators who strive to remove barriers and improve the quality of life, and those organizations that promote independence as well as those that provide residential assistance.
Each year thousands of individuals and organizations meet the criteria to earn a World Ability Award. While the number of awards is limited each year, we wish we could present an award to each and every candidate. They are all winners.
