The Center on Disabilities at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is committed to providing outstanding student services to students with disabilities, and to making a contribution to the field of disabilities in general and to those who provide services to people with disabilities by the dissemination of information through training programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, and electronic media, and may also conduct applications-oriented research as a means of improving the lives of persons with disabilities and the professional skills of those who work with them.

The Center continues to carry out its mission within its three major programs:

Students with Disabilities Resources, a permanent program that continues to endeavor to render high quality support services to the CSUN population of students with disabilities.  Each semester, the office of Students with Disabilities Resources (SDR) serves more than 850 students with disabilities enrolled at CSUN. Our program staff consists of professionals and specialists who work collaboratively with individual students diagnosed with learning, mobility, visual, communication, psychological and other functional disabilities. We are committed to student success and have developed a variety of programs designed to assist students achieve their personal goals.

Conference, particularly the "Technology and Persons with Disabilities" Annual Conference.  This is a comprehensive, international conference, where all technologies across all ages; disabilities; levels of education and training; employment; and independent living are addressed. It is the largest conference of its kind.

Training, Grants, and Contracts, particularly the “Assistive Technology Applications Certificate Program (ATACP) continues to be in demand nationwide.  The Center offers other timely and customizable training workshops in the area of AT and disability and can be offered nationally or internationally. 

The Center enjoys a highly favorable national and international reputation in the area of technology and disability.
