WAF Directors Visit Miami Project to Cure Paralysis

The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis

March 3, 2005 - MIAMI - The Directors of the World Ability Federation traveled to Miami to meet with Marc Buoniconti and to take a tour of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.  In July 2004, the Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis was presented with the "Best Fund" award at the 2004 World Ability Awards.

John Chmela and William Smith met with Marc Buoniconti at the Lois Pope Center discussed the future plans for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and the World Ability Federation and to discuss the possibility of hosting the annual awards gala in Miami in a future year.

"The tour of the Miami Project was awe inspiring.  The research that they are conducting is not only at the verge of finding a cure to spinal cord injuries but also other life threatening illnesses.  It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Barth Green personally during our tour, and to see firsthand what is happening on the leading edge of spinal cord injury research."
