2005 Nominees Names Revealed and Dave Bigoney Delivers Ceremonial First Pitch.
 
May 18, 2005 - CHICAGO - The World Ability Federation hosts World Ability Day at US Cellular Field where the names of the 2005 World Ability Award Nominees were revealed for the first time

John Chmela, David Bigoney, and Bill Smith at US Cellular Field with LaSalle Bank logo in background.David Bigoney, an Eagle Boy Scout and four-year Navy man, threw out the ceremonial first pitch.  In 1996, David was involved in a domestic dispute where he was shot in the head by his step mother leaving him totally blind.  During the same dispute, the step mother killed David's father and took her own life.  Today, David is one of the most celebrated triathletes in the world finishing 2nd and 4th respectively in the 2001 and 2003 International Triathlon Union World Championship. 

David was joined by over 200 supporters of the World Ability Federation to enjoy the game.  The Chicago White Sox won the game beating the Texas Rangers 7-0.
